Larry's Bait & Tackle, Inc. was first opened by Larry Godbee of Port Wentworth, Georgia approximately 7 years ago. Larry originally started the business out of his home before moving to another location in Port Wentworth. Approximately 4 years ago, Larry opened the shop at its current location just down the road from the Houlihan Bridge and boat landing, the ideal location for both the saltwater and freshwater fisherman.
Larry is the proud father of two sons, Wesley (13) and Preston (10), who also share his love of fishing and hopefully will one day follow in their dad's footsteps and be the next generation to run the shop.
In January of 2008, Larry decided the business was growing quickly, and that he needed to take on some additional help. Help came in the form of his two partners, Anna Lane and Jeff Lawson, of Wake Forest, North Carolina. Anna and Jeff have a son Lane (9) who is also learning about the bait business and is finding he has a growing love of fishing and all things related to the water.
In April of 2008, we added space to accommodate all the new tackle and accessories now being offered at Larry's Bait & Tackle, Inc. On July 1, 2008, Larry's Bait & Tackle, Inc. became incorporated and we are making plans to extend the shop to further handle our customer's growing needs.
